Love Hina: A Classic, but Does it Still Hold Up?

So, I just finished rewatching Love Hina, and man, it hit me with a wave of nostalgia. For those who haven’t seen it, it’s the OG harem rom-com anime that came out in the early 2000s. The premise is simple: a guy (Keitaro) ends up running a girls’ dormitory and hilarity (and romance) ensue. It’s got all the classic harem tropes—awkward misunderstandings, random fanservice, and characters who are way too over-the-top, but somehow, it all works.

What really stood out this time around was the character development. Keitaro’s journey from clueless and kinda pathetic to someone who’s actually trying his best is lowkey inspiring. Plus, Naru’s constant tsundere behavior… kind of iconic, right?

Now, I’m wondering: Does Love Hina still hold up in 2025? Some of the humor and scenarios can feel a little dated or cliché, but it still holds a special place in my heart. Anyone else think it’s a perfect blend of awkward moments and sweet romance? Or has it been overshadowed by more recent shows?
